It’s worse when you see the same model for sale in far better condition than yours and think if only you hadn’t recently bought yours you could probably afford this far superior one.

We have three roughly 18 year old cars: two of which are commercial vehicles from VW and Nissan and the other is a Subaru. We don’t have this problem because every other iteration of the same thing around here is equally beaten up by Life...

I suspect your Lexus is nicer than 90% of them on the road even around here.
My solution is to have cars that don’t have identical twins. Although now and then something with an uncanny resemblance comes out of the woodwork (from a fintail owners group):

Used to be a shiny Apex Blue S2000 CR in the work parking lot ... until one day there was a “for sale” sign in it because he (she?) had a kid on the way. No more jealousy!
